Welding Leader (Oil & Gas)

• Lead the welding team to ensure quality and best practices in welding engineering and inspection

• Develop and implement welding engineering and inspection standards for the refinery

• Establish and maintain the welding quality management system aligned with ISO 3834

• Provide technical support for maintenance, projects, and turnarounds

• Define workflows and clarify responsibilities across departments and service providers

• Oversee welding documentation, approvals, and compliance with industry standards

• Monitor and reduce welding defects through root cause analysis and process improvements

• Introduce new welding technologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety

• Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to welding management systems

• Collaborate with procurement, legal, and finance to support contractual requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding, Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Technical Engineering

• Certified International Welding Engineer (IWE)

• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI, CSWIP 3.1, or IIW-S)

• API 571 certification required

• ISO 9001/ISO 3834 training preferred

• At least 10 years of experience in oil and gas projects and operational plants

• Minimum 7 years in welding inspection or engineering for oil and gas projects

• Experience in leading welding teams or departments (3-5 years)

• Strong knowledge of international welding codes (ASME, API, AWS)

• Hands-on experience with WPS/PQR, ITP, PWHT, and NDE techniques

• Familiarity with refinery equipment such as vessels, reactors, boilers, and steam generators

• Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills

• Fluent in English (TOEIC 650 or IELTS 5.0)

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
