Teaching Assistant – Secondary Campus

1/ JOB PURPOSE

Teaching Assistants on the Secondary Campus support learning by working with small groups of students under the guidance and direction of class teachers. Class teachers are further supported by Teaching Assistants in the preparation of teaching and learning resources and offering translation between Vietnamese and English at Parent, Teacher, Student Conferences.

Supporting learning

Teaching Assistants directly support learning in the classroom by working with individual and small groups of students under the guidance of class teachers:

• Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of teachers.

• Provide academic and social support for students to enable them to fully participate in learning.

• Support students with difficulties, whether these be social, emotional and/or learning related.

• Assist teachers in providing feedback to students.

• Undertake other in-class tasks reasonably requested by the class teacher.

• Attend meetings with class teachers, Heads of Department, SLT as required.

• Undertake the role of examination invigilator as required.

• Teach Vietnamese as Foreign Language classes at Key Stage 3 as required.

Pastoral

• Support the social wellbeing of our students by assisting with duties at break and lunchtime.

• Contribute to the smooth running of school events, as requested by the Head TA.

• Support the CCA programme, as requested by the Head TA.

Resource/Facilities

• Prepare teaching resources as reasonably requested by the class teacher.

• Provide support for photocopying resources.

• Prepare and maintain high quality displays of student work and learning scaffolding.

• Support class teachers in ensuring classrooms are appropriately resourced.

• Support class teachers in maintaining a clean and tidy environment that is conducive to learning.

Communication

• Provide Vietnamese-English translation services at Parent, Teacher, Student

Conferences.

• Translate other documents as reasonably requested.

• Support students with additional language needs in English/Vietnamese learning to access learning.

Working hour: from Monday to Friday, from 7:30am to 4:00pm (30 minutes break)

Working Address: Secondary Campus, 246 Nguyen Van Huong, Thao Dien Ward, Thu Duc City

3/ BENEFIT SCHEDULES

- SI, HI, UI as regulation (10,5% on gross salary); medical insurance from Generali

- Lunch Allowance 48,000đ/day

• Vietnamese only

• University graduate, BA in Secondary Education is an advantage

• Experience of teaching secondary age children (12-18 year of age) is preferable and a competent English speaker

• Has the personality to work with and support children who have certain learning difficulties

• Can work as part of a team
