Supply Chain Head/ Director in Chemical Industry

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Oversight of Logistics Operations:

Lead and oversee all aspects of logistics, including warehousing, transportation, air and ocean freight, and value-added services.

Ensure a thorough understanding of cross-border logistics requirements and global supply chain strategies.

Compliance and Documentation:

Manage documentation related to cross-border shipments, ensuring alignment with local regulations.

Ensure compliance of 3PL warehouse facilities with business and regulatory requirements.

3PL and Vendor Management:

Establish and maintain performance benchmarks for 3PL providers through SLAs and KPIs.

Conduct regular business reviews and lead annual rate negotiations with 3PL providers based on performance metrics.

Manage contracts with logistics service providers, including renewals and amendments in alignment with headquarters.

Process Development and Continuous Improvement:

Design, document, and enhance logistics processes and procedures for internal and external operations.

Analyze shipping patterns to identify trends, deviations, and inefficiencies, driving cost savings and operational improvements.

Lead initiatives to reduce waste and streamline supply chain workflows.

Cost Optimization and Performance Analysis:

Develop insights into logistics costs, identify key drivers, and implement strategies to optimize spending.

Provide detailed analytic support for projects, new business opportunities, and operational decision-making.

Audit and Quality Assurance:

Conduct frequent quality audits of warehouses, carriers, and value-added service providers to ensure operational excellence.

Maintain adherence to the Supply Chain Management Policy and ensure high-quality service delivery.

Crisis Preparedness and Market Intelligence:

Develop robust contingency plans for warehousing and transportation to mitigate risks.

Stay informed on market trends and alternative service providers to enhance agility and resilience.

Leadership in IT and Digital Transformation:

Drive the implementation of global and regional IT and digitalization projects for the supply chain function.

Oversee the management of EDI interfaces with LSPs and ensure accuracy of order processes, stock levels, and shipment data.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

Act as the primary point of contact for supply chain-related matters for business units, commercial teams, 3PL providers, and intercompany affiliates.

Build strong relationships with peers across the region and globally to foster best practices.

Participate in local management meetings and represent the company in the Asia Supply Chain Task Force.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of contracts, agreements, NCR management, and quarterly business review (QBR) reports.

• Background with demonstrable work experience (>10 years) in (similar) supply chain / logistics role, Chemical industry is preferred

• Good proficiency in English language

• Excellent knowledge of logistic market in Vietnam

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in MS Excel

• Strong leadership skill, communication skills, presentation skills, interpersonal and networking skills

• Good interpersonal skills and relationship building – both internally and externally.
