Hi there, we’re Article. We’re a North American based furniture company creating remarkably better furniture experiences one sofa at a time. And as the Senior Manager (Sourcing), you’ll strategically oversee the entire global sourcing process within their product category, including vendor selection, negotiations, performance evaluation, risk mitigation, and order management.
Why We Need You:
In the sourcing team, the two Senior Managers (Sourcing) drive supply chain optimization and ensure alignment with business objectives, fostering supplier excellence, risk management, and continuous improvement across the sourcing function. Both Senior Managers (Sourcing) will report to the Director of Global Sourcing and are responsible for managing and streamlining order processes to enhance efficiency, meet delivery timelines, and achieve customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do:
You’ll be leading and developing a high-performing sourcing and order management team of 3 professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure the team achieves departmental goals and fosters individual professional growth.
- Build and support continuous improvement initiatives with existing vendors, including conducting formal performance reviews and driving supplier accountability. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, ensuring their alignment with business objectives and fostering value-added partnerships.
- Lead sourcing projects to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and manage competitive bidding processes to drive value. Provide final approval on all supplier negotiations to ensure diligence in negotiation practices and alignment with supplier capability.
- Oversee and coordinate the end-to-end order management process to ensure timely procurement, production scheduling, and delivery in alignment with business needs.
- Conduct regular reviews and coaching sessions with team members to enhance negotiation skills and ensure adherence to established negotiation principles and protocols. Mentor and coach team members (particles) to help them develop their skills and ensure high performance across the department.
- Oversee team performance on key metrics, including Turnkey product delivery tasks, on-time performance, cost negotiations/targets, CSAT scores, and product quality.
- Identify and assess supply chain risks (supplier disruptions, geopolitical factors, etc.) and develop strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring minimal impact on operations. Implement risk management processes and develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity in the event of disruptions.
- Drive process optimization and best practice sharing within the sourcing function to enhance overall efficiency. As well as initiatives across teams to ensure vendor commitments and targets are aligned with company goals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to establish transparency and alignment on sourcing needs, optimizing total cost and strategic initiatives. Ensure accountability across teams for agreed deliverables.
- Greater than 35-40% travel required, mostly manufacturing partners, and occasional travel to North America for leadership meetings
Job requirements
Who You Are:
- 7+ years of experience in glo-bal sourcing, supply chain management, or procurement, with a focus on supplier negotiations and risk management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Furniture Case Goods or Upholstery industry experience and direct Order Management experience are highly preferred.
- Proven experience in leading teams and driving supplier performance improvements.
- Strong negotiation skills, with demonstrated success in cost management and supplier partnerships.
- Ability to assess risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with sourcing tools and systems to enhance supplier management efficiency.
- Highly proficient in both Vietnamese and English, written and verbal.
- Ability to travel to North America for occasional leadership meetings.
- Legally able to work in Vietnam without VISA sponsorship.
