Senior Detail Engineer

Key Objective of Role

This role is responsible for Making and Checking of Proposal Drawings, Engineering Drawings, Tekla Model, Shop Drawings, Erection Drawings, especially for Cladding/Flashing Drawings and BOM (Bill of Material);

Attending to NCR and coordinates with Detail and Design Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Reviews Design Information passed on to him by the Detailing Supervisor.

• Make and Check the Proposal Drawings, Engineering Drawings, Tekla Model, Shop Drawings, Erection Drawings and BOM passed on to him by the Detailing Supervisor.

• Especially, be able to prepare and check the Cladding/Flashing Drawings and BOM.

• Coordinates with the Design Engineer and Detailing Supervisor in making all the documents error-free.

• Point out errors to the detailing engineer for further corrections.

• Passes the checked work to the Detailing Supervisor.

• Ensures that standard detailing practices are followed, and that non-standard details are made as shop friendly as possible.

• Ensure that shop limitations, shipping limitations and ease of construction are considered.

• Plans to finish his work according to assigned schedules and gives early warnings to the Detailing Supervisor if schedules cannot be met.

• Inform the Detailing Supervisor if he concludes that a detailing engineer needs guidance and/or training in any specific detailing issue or a process.

• Answers and initials the claims and shop NCRs prior to passing them on to the Detailing Supervisor for countersigning.

• Signs Engineering Release Transmittals signifying that all engineering documents have been thoroughly checked.

Relevant Experience & Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Civil, Architectural or Mechanical Engineering.

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in detailing pre-engineered metal buildings.

• Knowledge of AutoCAD drafting & Tekla Software.

• Very good communication skills.

• Commitment to quality as matching with practical thinking and speed of action.
