QA Manager - Furniture

Job Summary:

The QA Manager will oversee the quality assurance processes for wooden casegoods and upholstered furniture, ensuring all products meet and exceed client specifications and industry standards. This role requires a highly experienced individual with a deep understanding of furniture manufacturing, materials, and finishing techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management System (QMS) Oversight

Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Quality Management System tailored to wooden casegoods and upholstered furniture.

Establish and document quality standards, inspection protocols, and procedures.

Regularly review and update QMS to align with industry advancements and client requirements.

2. Production Quality Assurance

Conduct inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Oversee testing of structural integrity, finishing, and upholstery craftsmanship.

Identify defects or inconsistencies and coordinate corrective actions with production teams.

3. Team Leadership and Training

Lead and mentor the QA team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Conduct training sessions for production staff on quality standards, tools, and techniques.

Collaborate with management to evaluate team performance and address skill gaps.

4. Client and Stakeholder Interaction

Work closely with clients’ quality control teams during audits and inspections.

Provide detailed quality reports and address any client concerns promptly and professionally.

5. Continuous Improvement

Analyze quality metrics and implement strategies to reduce defects and improve overall efficiency.

Research and recommend advanced tools, technologies, or processes to enhance quality assurance practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance for wooden casegoods and upholstered furniture.

Technical Expertise

In-depth knowledge of woodworking techniques, finishing methods, and upholstery craftsmanship.

Familiarity with industry standards such as ANSI/BIFMA, ASTM, or similar.

Experience with quality tools like Six Sigma, SPC, or ISO 9001 standards is a plus.

Skills and Competencies

Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Proficient in using Microsoft Office and QA software tools.

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and material certifications.

Language Skills

Proficiency in Vietnamese and English; knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.
