Purchasing Manager
Job description
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee the procurement of materials, supplies, and products in the backpack manufacturing industry. The Purchasing Manager will play a key role in sourcing, selecting, and working with suppliers to ensure stable supply, good quality, and reasonable costs. In addition, this position will be responsible for supervising the purchasing team, ensuring that purchasing processes are carried out efficiently, in compliance with regulations, and meet production requirements.
* Key Responsibilities:
• Manage Procurement Activities: Responsible for sourcing and selecting suppliers of raw materials and accessories for backpack production, ensuring stable supply and meeting production requirements.
• Negotiate and Manage Contracts: Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and product quality standards are met.
• Quality Control: Ensure that the materials and accessories purchased meet high-quality standards, comply with company specifications, and meet technical product requirements.
• Demand Planning and Forecasting: Forecast material requirements and create procurement plans that align with the production schedule, avoiding material shortages or excess inventory.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and control material stock levels, ensuring there is no shortage while avoiding overstocking to optimize costs.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term, cooperative relationships with suppliers and address any issues that arise during the supply process.
• Supervise the Purchasing Team: Guide and train the purchasing team, evaluate work performance, and encourage professional development within the team.
Job requirements
• Education: College degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement, must have experience in the backpack, bag or garment manufacturing.
* Job start date: After the Lunar New Year.
• Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with suppliers.
- Team management, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP software and supply chain management tools.
- Communication in English is required, preference will be given to candidates who know Korean.
