PRODUCTION ENGINEER

NAMCONSON PIPELINE CO. (NCSP) is a joint venture established in 2000, now under a business cooperation contract between Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS), ZN Asia Ltd and Perenco. The purpose of the Joint Venture is to design, build, own and operate the central gas system of the Nam Con Son gas project for transporting and treating gas from offshore owners supplying the commercial gas to the Phu My Gas - Electricity - Fertilizer Center in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

We seek to fill in the position of PRODUCTION ENGINEER for Vietnamese, working in Ba Ria, Vung Tau City. Individuals with the qualified credentials and high degree of motivation are welcomed to apply. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

JOB PURPOSE:

• To register and manage the production data for assurance and continuous improvement on production works and data management

• To register and manage the production chemicals in a manner of availability and reliability for smooth and reliable operations.

• To back up the Laboratory Chemist on provision of routine and non-routine sampling, analysis and reporting at the NCSP Terminal and NCSP facilities at GDC to assure the testing availability/reliability of laboratory

• To back up the Hydrocarbon Accountant on management of production data (gas/condensate deliveries/redeliveries, fuels …) and finding causes of deviation, if any.

• To assist the Production Engineering Team Leader in analyzing production data and reporting relevant data on demands.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Provide a safe and efficient sampling and analysis service for NCSP and responsible for managing the sampling and analysis of quality assurance and allocation samples

• Assist Production Engineering Team Leader in production technical monitoring/reporting internally within NCSP and externally to NCSP Operators/Partners

• Back up for Lab Chemist and Hydrocarbon Accountant when required

• Act as SPA for the availabilities of production chemicals/materials

• Co-operate closely with the Shippers and the PVGas on production coordination issues.

WORK TASKS:

• Monitor and analyze production data for proposing improvement on production works and data management.

• Propose operational improvements to increase safety, reduce energy usage, reduce products losses and harmful discharges to the environment.

• Organise timely ordering of operational chemicals/materials/consumables.

• Follow up gas and condensate deliveries/redeliveries. Liaise with the Hydrocarbon Accountant for clarification of deviation.

• Co-operate closely with the Shippers and the PVGas on production coordination issues.

• Assist Production Engineering Team Leader in production technical monitoring/reporting internally within NCSP and externally to NCSP Operators/Partners

• To be able to cover for the Laboratory Chemist leave, illness etc

• To be able to cover for the Hydrocarbon Accountant during leave/illness etc

• Participate in Emergency Organisation according to the Emergency Response Plan.

CORE COMPETENCIES

• Effective communication, organization and prioritization skills

• Ability to work to targets to ensure safety and process efficiency.

• Computer literate, specifically Excel, Word, Power Point and ability to quickly learn proprietary applications.

• Good numerous skills.

• Good English language skills both oral and written (intermediate level).

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

• Good understanding and knowledge of Oil and Gas processing.

• Good understanding/knowledge of petroleum analytical laboratory operation such as: oil and gas analyses, quality assurance and control tools (QA/QC), quality management system, and laboratory management

• Competence of production planning, laboratory management and Process and Pipeline Simulation packages (e.g Hysys, MSI, Olga, Psim…)

• Competence of data registration, monitoring and reporting programs (Advanced MS Excel, Business Object,…)

• Good understanding/knowledge of measurement principles

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Educational background: University degree in chemical engineering (petrochemical engineering is preferable)

Other trainings: Laboratory sampling and testing

Experience: 2 years of reporting and doing lab analysis, 1 year of production planning works
