Product Engineer (Furniture Industry)

** Position Overview: We are currently looking to recruit a Product Engineer (Furniture Industry) to join our team in technical development to responsible for, developing new products, to make sure products comply with customer requirement and market regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely Product development team on daily tasks and special assignments.

• Daily communication with suppliers and their quality in-charge on quality and compliance protocols.

• Team work with Business Developer on audit activities, suppliers and product development to ensure quality in order to have customer’s satisfaction.

• Team with Quality Control for inspection, product improvement and rework process for new products live in system.

Must have:

1. Enforce and ensure the company as well as customer’s quality standards and protocols.

- Together with the PD, develop and ensure that all products are developed to be complained with customer and Unique Furniture in term of quality, customer and market standard.

- Works with PD to audit new factories, qualify and give feedback to strength and weakness in term of technical and quality perspective, compliance and standards.

- Ensure suppliers received latest updated technical documents including all required documentation and fully understood the instructions.

- Responsible for ensuring that all articles have full technical documents and upload all documents on system timely.

2. Checking of samples and preproduction sample / seal sample.

- Check and approve samples of new products (for customers) against agreed specifications from Sales and ensure they are manufactured in line with specified material quality, construction, workmanship and finishing.

- Perform sample inspection, generate sample report for sale review, and coordinate the sample shipment out with BS.

- Run in-house tests on the product before sending to testing labs.

- Follow up, check and coordinate all test lab report, assembly instruction, carton label, loading instruction are in order and submit to customer.

- Conduct final inspection confirmation for new articles with QC team.

- Follows with 1st inspection to ensure product is delivered in good quality.

- Check BOM, AI, LD, color swatches etc in term of product quality and share this product package to QC team for following in inspection.

Nice to have:

• Good English ability

• At least 5-year working experience in furniture engineering, furniture technical or furniture production management in an international company

• To have background of making basic drawings: CAD, Solidworks…

• Teamwork abilities, including capability in effective online communication with colleagues and suppliers.
