Product Development Manager

Key Responsibilities

*Product Development Leadership

- Lead the end-to-end product development process, from initial design concepts to production-ready samples.

- Collaborate closely with the design team to understand creative ideas and ensure their feasibility for manufacturing.

- Oversee in-house production of all samples within the Product Development Department, ensuring quality and precision.

- Partner with factory teams to refine production processes and transition prototypes into scalable manufacturing solutions.

*Team Management

- Manage and mentor the Product Development Department, including quality and technical engineering teams.

- Set clear goals and performance expectations for the team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

- Ensure the team delivers high-quality results on schedule, maintaining alignment with company objectives.

*Technical Expertise & Process Improvement

- Utilize advanced technical knowledge of furniture and upholstery manufacturing to troubleshoot and resolve development challenges.

- Identify and implement improvements in product design, materials, and production processes to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

- Ensure all samples meet rigorous quality standards and industry specifications.

*Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Act as the primary link between the design team, factory partners, and internal stakeholders.

- Work with procurement and supply chain teams to source materials and manage costs effectively.

- Coordinate closely with the quality assurance team to establish and maintain high-quality standards.

*Reporting & Documentation

- Prepare detailed reports on product development progress, timelines, and challenges.

- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for product specifications, material requirements, and technical details.

*Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Furniture Technology, or a related field.

- 10+ years of experience in furniture manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on upholstery products.

- Proven track record of managing product development teams and delivering high-quality results.

- In-depth technical knowledge of furniture production, materials, and quality standards.

- Experience with in-house sample production processes is highly desirable.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, particularly in technical and manufacturing challenges.

- Proficiency in CAD software and other design/engineering tools.

- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across cultures and departments.

- Fluency in English is required; Vietnamese language skills are a plus.
