Job description
NAMCONSON PIPELINE CO. (NCSP) is a joint venture established in 2000, now under a business cooperation contract between Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS), ZN Asia Ltd and Perenco. The purpose of the Joint Venture is to design, build, own and operate the central gas system of the Nam Con Son gas project for transporting and treating gas from offshore owners supplying the commercial gas to the Phu My Gas - Electricity - Fertilizer Center in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
We seek to fill in the position of MECHANICAL & PIPELINE ENGINEER for Vietnamese, working in Ba Ria, Vung Tau City. Individuals with the qualified credentials and high degree of motivation are welcomed to apply. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
1. JOB PURPOSE
Provision of engineering support for maintaining high level of technical integrity in the area of Mechanical and Pipeline at Dinh Co Gas Processing Terminal. To manage inspection activities required to maintain the technical integrity of the NCSP Offshore and Onshore pipelines, terminal pipework, pressure vessels, pressure safety valves, and structures. All duties will be performed in accordance with the NCSP business policies and procedures.
2. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main accountabilities:
• Be responsible for pipeline maintenance inspection and intervention activities within the NCSP organization, towards the shippers, PV Gas, external contractors, service companies.
• Co-ordinate offshore and onshore pipeline inspection and maintenance activities with the Terminal Organization, PVGas SE pipeline team and Block 06.1 operation teams.
• Provide Mechanical and Pipeline support to the daily operations and maintenance activities
• Maintain and update the computer based “tracking” system for pipeline inspections, engineering data and interventions
Work Tasks:
• Support Senior Pipeline engineer to ensure that the required quality of the maintenance and inspection programs for the offshore and onshore pipelines is fulfilled.
• Develop work scope for external companies hired to perform maintenance inspection and intervention jobs on the offshore and onshore pipelines.
• Manage pipeline maintenance and inspection activities internally in the NCSP organization, towards Block 06.1, PVGas SE, external contractors and service companies.
• Provide technical review of works on onshore pipeline ROW.
• Work closely with Mechanical Technicians as well as equipment manufacturers/vendors to provide support for the onsite team.
• Support Senior Mechanical and Pipeline engineers in managing Risk Based Inspection (RBI) program for pipelines, HC piping & pressure vessels, pressure relief valves, flexible hoses and structures.
• Provide engineering support to ensure maintenance, inspection and repair of mechanical equipment are in compliance with applicable industry codes, regulations and specifications.
• Evaluate suitability of Mechanical and Pipeline equipment vendors/suppliers, spare requirements and optimizes spares holding.
• Review and update planned maintenance routines for mechanical and pipeline equipment.
• Prepare and review mechanical and pipeline modification design work packages.
• Provide support for Maintenance management system (Maximo) as necessary.
• Identify areas for continuous improvement.
• Assist maintenance internal audit of planned routine procedures.
• Perform all core mechanical and pipeline maintenance engineering responsibilities as outlined in the annual objectives.
• Have basic understanding of the significant environmental impacts from NCSP Operations together with an appropriate knowledge of the environmental management system, policy and procedures.
Job requirements
1.COMPETENCIES
1.1. Core competencies

• Computer literate, specifically MS. Outlook, Auto CAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to quickly learn proprietary computer applications
• English language skills both oral and written (intermediate level).
1.2. Technical competencies
• Solid background in mechanical engineering.
• Basic understanding of Oil and Gas processing
• Basic understanding of pipeline & mechanical equipment inspection and maintenance
• 5 years experience in mechanical engineering
2. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Educational background: University degree – Mechanical background
• Other trainings: Offshore and/or onshore pipelines engineering (operations, inspection and troubleshooting)
• Experience: 3 year working experience in Oil and Gas industry
