Logistics Material Flow Specialist

Position Overview

The position is accountable for designing and continuously improving material flows from supplier to customer to better and better in readiness, effectiveness, cost field. Ensure compliance with all company standards in the areas of safety, people, quality, responsiveness and cost.

Position Responsibilities

• Support plant ergonomic assessment activities related to material flow design and configuration

• Ensure all material are available and operation readiness during the production launch build phase so a flawless and a competitive start-up is achieved.

• Identify and eliminate high risk activities using risk reduction tools, such as PFMEA, risk assessments, etc.

• Develop and drive material flow strategy though PFEP (Plan For Every Part) to ensure the overall material movement.

• Lead and execute material flow studies for new program/design and identify improvement opportunities for operation improvement.

• Develop plans to monitor the usage levels of storage, manage warehouse facilities, review the quality and efficiency of warehouse storage and layout.

• Ensure that all programs meet the three measures of a successful vehicle launch: on time, excellent quality and meeting and/or exceeding program financial targets.

• Work with Manufacturing partners and suppliers to develop and implement strategies to decrease non-value added activities within manufacturing.

• Support plant ergonomic assessment activities related to packaging design and configuration

• 4 + years’ experience in high volume and complex manufacturing, preferably the automotive industry.

• Experienced in Lean Material Flow Systems set up with some key tasks:

+ Concept development

+ Negotiation with involved departments to get internal approval for concept

+ Biz case preparation

+ Budget approval and execution follow up

+ Organization of tests for new material flow processes

+ Standardization of good practices and experience

• Preference given to those with experience in logistic equipment purchasing activities. Biz case study, budget approval, RFQ preparation, etc.

• Technical mindset, strong ability to grasp and effectively use technical concepts and technical information.

• Highly motivated, self-starter, and active learner with strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in multi-national relationships.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel is a must. AutoCAD is an advantage).

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business at a minimum

• Preferable to have Bachelors or advanced degrees in either supply chain, business or engineering.

• English level: intermediate
