HR Manager - Generalist

The Human Resources Manager (HRM) will be responsible for managing a broad range of HR functions, including recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management and development, overseeing expatriate work permits and residence matters and employee relations, to ensure optimal daily HR operations. The HRM will also be involved in budget planning, implementing HR policies and guidelines, ensuring HR practices adheres to school policies and legal requirements. The HRM will collaborate closely with the HR Director in the development of HR strategies, policies formulation, workforce planning, as well as in managing ad hoc projects as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
• Manage the implementation of the school's compensation and benefits programs to support the achievement of the school’s strategic goals related to talent acquisition, development, and retention, while ensuring compliance with all relevant local legal requirements, including but not limited to Labor Law, Social Insurance, and Personal Income Tax.
• Manage payroll administration and employees’ time management, including implementation of absence-attendance procedure, in compliance with local laws and school policies.
• Research and evaluate labor market movement, conduct market surveys on salary and benefits and in peer groups of international schools, conduct internal annual salary review, continuously maintain legal updates to propose competitive and effective rewards systems in line with the local legal requirements and school rewards philosophy.
• Contribute to the school annual budget process and recommend necessary adjustments for the next budget cycle.
Compliance & Employees Relations
• Manage HR operations in legal residence and work permit of expatriate employees in Vietnam to ensure the compliance with the Vietnamese Labour law and other relevant legal regulations on expatriate employees working and living in Vietnam.
• Maintain up-to-date internal working regulations and Employee Handbook, periodically reinforce HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure alignment with the school’s culture and development strategies, while also adhering to Vietnamese labor law and other relevant regulations.
• Conduct investigations into complaints related to employment matters and take appropriate disciplinary actions. Manage dispute resolution procedures and support negotiations with stakeholders to safeguard the school’s interests.
• Provide professional HR advice and answer enquiries from employees for their concerns on employment matters. Identify common concerns to propose updates in HR practices to address the employees' needs.
HR Administration
• Oversee HR information systems and applications to ensure optimal HR operations, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date database that meets internal reporting requirements and complies with regulations from relevant authorities, school policies, and Vietnamese laws.
• Manage HR team members and monitor HR office operations to ensure the efficient implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Recruitment, Performance Management, Organizational Development
• Assist the Head of HR in implementing efficient recruitment processes to ensure a strong talent pipeline.
• Collaborate with division heads to identify training needs and organize professional development programs that align with school policies. Contribute to the design and execution of on-boarding programs tailored to different employee groups, including support to relocation of the new foreign faculty group.
• Oversee implementation of performance management system. Regularly review and assess the system, proposing necessary adjustments to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate with division heads to define and update job position responsibilities; Maintain comprehensive job descriptions and clear organizational charts; Assist the Head of HR to assess staffing needs and develop workforce planning. Monitor headcount and resource allocation, ensuring optimal utilization of talent in alignment with the school’s development strategy.
Other tasks
• Participate in HR management projects as required from time to time. Attend HR workshops/ conferences both in Vietnam and abroad upon request.
• Performs additional responsibilities may be assigned by the HRD, AHOS.
Yêu cầu công việc
Knowledge, Education and Experience:
• Technical Knowledge: Bachelor Degree in Human Resources Management/ Business Administration/ Law or relevant field.
• In-depth knowledge of Labor law, Social Insurance law, Personal income tax law and HR Compensation & Benefits and Compliance best practices. Finance awareness.
• Year of experience: At least 3-5 year experiences as a HR Manager or HR C&B Manager at MNC, experience at international schools or in education industry is a plus
