Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director (or Manager) of Product Management to lead our medical device product portfolio. This role will be pivotal in shaping and executing our product strategy, overseeing the development lifecycle, and ensuring regulatory compliance and clinical relevance. The Director will work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners and sub-contractors.
Key Responsibilities
• Strategic Vision & Product Roadmap: Define a strategic vision and roadmap for our medical device portfolio, aligning with clinical needs, regulatory requirements, and business goals.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and compliance-focused culture that ensures safe and effective product development.
• End-to-End Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full product lifecycle from concept through design, validation, regulatory submission, and post-market support, ensuring all processes adhere to relevant standards in Vietnam.
• Regulatory & Clinical Compliance: Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Affairs teams to ensure that all products meet regulatory requirements and clinical validation standards for target markets, supporting timely regulatory submissions and approvals.
• Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, unmet clinical needs, and opportunities for innovation in the medical device space.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: HQ in Korea, business team, marketing and sales teams to drive successful product development and launch, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned on clinical and regulatory requirements.
• Inventory Management for Medical Devices: Responsible for the accurate tracking, monitoring, and control of medical device inventory. This includes maintaining optimal stock levels, ensuring compliance with regulatory storage requirements, coordinating with supply chain teams, and implementing efficient inventory management systems to support operational needs and reduce loss.
• Sales Channel Management: Oversee and manage sales channels to drive business growth, including the development and expansion of new sales channels and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with existing partners. Responsibilities include analyzing channel performance, identifying growth opportunities, negotiating partnerships, and ensuring alignment with overall sales strategies and company goals.
• Marketing Management: Lead and manage marketing activities to enhance brand presence and drive product awareness. This includes directly executing marketing strategies, managing academic and promotional marketing initiatives from headquarters, and overseeing marketing campaigns executed through external marketing agencies. Responsibilities involve strategic planning, budget management, performance analysis, and ensuring alignment with company objectives and market needs.
• Present product strategies, plans, and progress to executive leadership, managing expectations and building support for product initiatives.
Job requirements
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in product management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (e.g., Head of Product Management, or Director of Product Management) within the medical device or healthcare industry or diagnostic testing field in Vietnam
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the medical device business development, including familiarity with relevant regulatory standards of Vietnam.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team of Product Managers, with experience building and mentoring teams focused on compliance, clinical relevance, and customer impact.
• Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and experience using clinical and market data to make informed product decisions. Familiarity with analysis tools and methods is a plus.
• Regulatory Insight: Comprehensive knowledge of the regulatory approval process in Vietnam and experience leading products through regulatory submission and compliance processes.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, Business); an advanced degree in a related field or an MBA is a plus.
• Language Proficiency: Native in Vietnamese (required), proficient in Korean (TOPIK Level 4 level, required), and fluent in English (preferred, a plus).
