Head of Design (Fluent in English)

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Head of Design, you will play a pivotal role in the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to market-ready products. Collaborating closely with our merchandise manufacturing team and sales team, you will bring ideas to life, ensuring that each product is not only visually appealing but also aligns with market demands. The ideal candidate will have a passion for consumer products, a strong grasp of manufacturing processes, and the ability to provide comprehensive product design solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1/ Design Innovation:

- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to infuse creativity and innovation into our designs (feature images for blogs, innovative product designs, mock-ups ideas, specifications sheet, etc…).

- Research, brainstorm and generate creative ideas for design projects.

2/ Design Leadership:

- Provide visionary leadership in both industrial and graphic design, guiding the team to create innovative and impactful concepts.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop design strategies that align with marketing objectives.

- Provide innovative product development solutions, considering design feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.

3/ Team Management:

- Manage team resources & workload to work effectively to deliver multi projects at the same time and foster a collaborative and creative work environment.

- Conduct regular performance reviews, identify areas for improvement, and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.

4/ Project Management:

- Oversee the end-to-end design process, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

- Participate in important meetings with clients (brief & presentation days) to convince clients about creative works.

5/ Collaboration & Communication:

- Act as a key point of contact between clients, stakeholders, team members, understanding the vision and translating it into compelling design concepts.

- Present design proposals and ideas to clients, incorporating feedback to achieve the desired outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS

● Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design or related fields.

● 5+ years in full-time design roles, with 2+ years of team leadership experience.

● Strong grasp of design principles, trends, and best practices. Knowledge in industrial design or POSM is preferred.

● Business-level English for working with internal stakeholders and international clients.

● Proficient in 2D & 3D software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Solidworks/Rhinoceros, Blender).

● Must have hand sketching skills.

● Creative thinker with practical application of ideas.

● Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and printing methods is preferred.
