[HCM - Part Time] IELTS Teacher

Our English teachers are expected to:

- Perform teaching-related tasks, including:

• planning,

• preparing materials,

• delivering lessons,

• marking homework,

• delivering assessments

• and giving feedback to learners;

- Complete administrative tasks related to teaching. This includes:

• checking attendance during class time,

• posting materials to Google classrooms after lesson;

• doing placement testings for prospective learners;

- Be punctual and arrive at least 15 minutes before class starts;

- Attend teacher meetings and trainings/workshops;

- Participate in our extra-curricular activities;

- Brings integrity and a strong work ethic to every situation.

TEACHER BEHAVIOURS

Below is a set of standard behaviours to guide teachers in their conduct, to ensure teaching quality for students:

- Knowledge: Teachers are expected to demonstrate both content-related and pedagogical knowledge.

- Awareness: Teachers should be aware of the classroom context, the levels of students’ language, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the class.

- Positivity: When at work, teachers are to create a positive learning environment; employ constructive rather than negative feedback. Activities are sufficiently stimulating for students; overly challenging exercises can demoralise and reduce students’ motivation as well as understanding.

- Assessment: Teachers are to make use of formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and give prompt feedback. This means feedback during the lesson and overall feedback at the end of the course.

- Resourcefulness: Teachers are expected to be familiar with a range of teaching resources and materials; able to use digital devices and platforms in teaching

REQUIREMENTS

- IELTS certificate with minimum overall band score 7.5.

- Relevant teaching qualifications (CELTA/TESOL/TEFL or equivalent)

- Diploma, Bachelor or Master Degree from an accredited institute.

- Familiarity with basic office skills (Google Docs, Google Slides, Word, PowerPoint, teaching apps, ...).

- Teaching experience is a major plus.
