Geotechinal Engineer

Role:

- Hands on geotechnical design for a range of projects in a variety of sectors including building and infrastructure (including building foundation, deep excavation, slope stability, geological modelling, soil improvement, tunnelling, slope risk assessment, etc…)

- Determine and interpret the relevant physical/mechanical and chemical soil/rock properties of these materials for design.

- Preparing geotechnical concept and design calculations to Eurocode and Vietnamese Standards.

- Briefing and managing draughts people to produce CAD / Revit drawings.

- Be responsible for the outputs from the engineering including calculations, design drawings, specification and reports through Arup Quality Assurance procedures and systems.

- To drive digitalisation and innovation throughout the design process is encouraged.

- Working with clients and other professionals with minimal supervision for those who have more than 5 years of experience.

- Co-ordinating work with Architects and Engineers of other disciplines to ensure smooth flow of technical and project information from design to construction stage for those who have more than 5 years of experience.

Requirements:

- Civil Engineering Degree and Master Degree in geotechnical engineering.

- From 2-5 years relevant working experience in geotechnical engineering.

- Construction Practising Certificate level I, II for those who have more than 5 years of experience.

- Understand the principles of soil mechanics and rock mechanics;

- Good English skills and communication skills are required.

- Readiness to acquire new knowledge and develop new skills.

- Be willing to move oversea for job cooperation or training if required.

- Understanding of relevant geotechnical design standards and design software within areas of expertise (Etabs/ SAFE/Plaxis 2D, 3D, Civil 3D, Slope/W, Seep/W, gINT…)

- Be fluent in CAD/ Revit. Additional Rhino / Grasshopper / Dynamo / Rhino Inside/ Grasshopper-Tekla Live Link is a plus.

- Ability to work under high pressure.
