Fullstack Lead Developer / Hands-on CTO - Japan Awaits

Pioneer the Next Generation of Japanese Tourism Technology

We're seeking a Fullstack Lead Developer / Hands-on CTO to take full ownership of our technology stack, ensuring our platform is scalable, secure, and future-proof. You'll be responsible for leading development, hiring and managing a team, setting up DevOps best practices, and overseeing IT infrastructure and supplier management. This is a highly strategic and technical leadership role, combining hands-on development with CTO-level responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership & Development

• Architect and build our core platform from the ground up using modern Laravel + Vue.js

• Design and implement a robust data migration strategy from WordPress.

• Lead the integration of multiple travel industry APIs.

• Develop AI-powered features to enhance user experience.

• Ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance.

• Drive technical innovation and long-term product vision.

Management & Leadership

• Hire and lead a team of developers.

• Create and manage a technical roadmap, ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery.

• Collaborate with the Product Manager to define project scope and technical feasibility.

• Communicate technical strategies effectively to non-technical stakeholders.

• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

CTO Responsibilities

• Implement DevOps best practices, including CI/CD, monitoring, security, and cloud infrastructure management.

• Prepare migration safeguards to ensure a seamless transition from legacy systems.

• Maintain a clear list and management of IT suppliers, ensuring the best solutions are used for scalability and security.

• Conduct regular audits of infrastructure, system architecture, and security measures.

Core Skills

• Fluent in english

• Expert-level PHP (Laravel)

• Fullstack expertise with Vue

• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles (Tailwind CSS or similar)

• Experience with data migrations and API integrations

• Advanced DevOps knowledge, including:

• CI/CD pipeline implementation

• Cloud infrastructure management

• Security best practices

• Performance optimization

• Monitoring and logging

Mandatory Portfolio Requirements
