Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Financial & Business Strategy
o Support FD with financial strategy, recommended changes, and communication to senior management and the Board.
o Contribute to the business plan; monitor and improve financial goals.
o Provide timely data for assessing performance and develop financial KPIs to measure success.
o Analyze competitor and market information to guide decision-making.
• Business Performance Reporting
o Track and report performance against key targets to senior management and the Board.
o Produce accurate, timely financial reports highlighting trends, actions, and strategic implications.
o Partner with stakeholders to ensure timely performance enhancement.
• Forecasting, Cash Flow & Capital Adequacy
o Lead planning and analysis to help leadership set goals and measure performance.
o Manage financial forecasting processes, timelines, and data requirements.
o Prepare quarterly financial forecasts for senior management and the Board.
o Ensure integrity of financial models, communicate insights, and present forecasts in clear reports.
o Work with BI team to convert data into actionable information for decision-making.
o Present information to external parties, such as rating agencies and Trustee Boards.
• Project Reporting & Investment Appraisal
o Coordinate capital spending review; model financial impacts of major changes.
o Develop ad hoc financial models to support strategic initiatives and business cases.
o Oversee financial modelling and due diligence for acquisitions, including bulk pension transfers.
• Other
o Assist the FD with Board and fundraising reports.
o Collaborate with IT to enhance financial modelling and analysis tools.
Job requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field
• Manager-level experience, including senior management reporting and presentations.
• Skilled in managing finance teams and building complex models/forecasts.
• Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and analytical skills; able to work under pressure.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
• Able to communicate complex information to varied audiences and influence decisions with evidence-based insights.
