Export Manager

PURPOSE:

The Export Manager ensures the efficient and timely export of footwear products by overseeing logistics, customs, and supply chain operations. This role is critical in maintaining product quality, meeting customer delivery requirements, and optimizing costs. Additionally, the position involves managing the export team, fostering relationships with partners and customers, and providing strategic insights to the Board of Directors to enhance overall export performance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Managing Export Activities:

• Oversee the entire process of exporting footwear, finished products, and semi-finished products.

• Coordinate with export service providers, shipping lines, and logistics service providers to ensure timely and standard-compliant transportation of goods.

• Handle issues arising with customs related to export procedures.

2. Ensuring Delivery Progress and Quality:

• Monitor compliance with product quality standards during export.

• Ensure on-time delivery commitments to customers.

• Track and improve service quality from logistics partners.

3. Cost Management and Efficiency Optimization:

• Develop and manage budgets related to export activities.

• Negotiate contracts with transportation partners to minimize costs.

• Propose solutions to optimize costs while maintaining service quality.

4. Handling Emergency Situations:

• Resolve issues related to goods, such as delivery delays, damage, or loss, promptly.

• Work with relevant parties to address problems and minimize damage.

5. Building Relationships with Customers and Partners:

• Maintain strong relationships with international customers.

• Develop a reliable network of logistics partners and transportation service providers.

6. Managing the Export-Import Department Staff:

• Assign tasks, guide, and supervise employees in the export-import department.

• Train and enhance the professional skills of the team.

• Ensure team performance meets job requirements.

7. Reporting and Collaborating with the Board of Directors:

• Prepare periodic reports on shipment progress, including delivery status, service quality, and arising issues.

• Propose solutions to optimize the export process to meet customer requirements and improve operational efficiency.

• Advise and support the Board of Directors in making strategic decisions related to export activities.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.

• At least 10 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the footwear or similar industries.

• Proven experience working with customs, taxation, and other regulatory bodies related to import-export activities.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Leadership skills with the ability to manage and align teams effectively.

• In-depth knowledge of import-export processes and regulations.

• Proficient in English; additional languages such as Korean or Chinese are preferred.

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

• Familiarity with supply chain management software such as ERP or SAP.
