My role as a Senior Project Manager is to build the best workplace for our colleagues around the world. Right now, I’m leading on all the approvals of our new factory in Binh Duong, Vietnam. This means ensuring we have all the necessary permits to build and complete the site.
For me, working here is a change to engage with my colleagues. Understanding their needs helps me to help them so I can deliver the best quality outcomes. In a way, we’re all building something. Strong, collaborative relationships for one. We do this by playing together, to know each other better. So we all enjoy what we do and feel more comfortable and happy as a result.
We learn all the time too. There are so many tools and platforms for this and we’re encouraged to make the most of them. We also learn from one another and the way we do things. Supporting one another makes us all feel like a family. Working like this enhances our capabilities so we can all fulfil our assignments to a higher standard. Putting each other first means we put the business first.
We bring curiosity and imagination to our work. In my role, this is about looking beyond the obvious and understanding things at a deeper level. Doing this enables me to propose the best solutions based in out-of-box thinking. I often have to deal with complex approval processes and, sometimes, I have to be very creative with how I navigate these. But there is always a solution. It’s about looking at things from a different perspective. When we see things differently, it makes all the difference in the world.
