CAE Safety Engineer
Job description
• Be responsible for Crashworthiness development of vehicle structure/ occupant restraints concepts for Vinfast Vehicle Programs
• Use CAE to lead the vehicle design, while balancing all applicable Global Safety Requirements for specific area of responsibility (i.e. Frontal Impacts)
• Perform Computer Aided Engineering simulations to evaluate full vehicle crashworthiness performance for high speed Frontal, Side, Rear impacts or low speed Front and Rear load cases, Pedestrian protection. using LS-DYNA software
• Generates sound and timely technical solutions to meet vehicle crashworthiness performance targets outlined in the Vehicle Technical Specifications and balance safety requirements based on the results of crash simulations for the major safety load cases
• Generate feasible vehicle design recommendations and work with engineering functions, program teams, suppliers, manufacturing and others to implement design changes as required to achieve vehicle performance
• Conduct optimization studies by utilizing optimization CAE tools
• Produce concise management summaries and report-outs that meet the needs of directors and Chief Engineers
Job requirements
• Bachelor or Masters from accredited University (Mechanical, Aero, Mechanics)
• 3+ years' experience in full vehicle crashworthiness simulation or performing occupant protection simulations using LS-DYNA/Palm Crash,… software to lead/ optimize the design of occupant restraint systems in frontal & side impacts or leading pedestrian protection activities throughout the vehicle development process from styling through validation
• Minimum 2 years with hands on experience on applied software skill related to Passive Safety Engineering Development such as Hyperwork, LS-Dyna, Oasys Suite, Diadem, ANSA and etc
• Working knowledge of the English language to allow communication in verbal and written form
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others
• High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult and ability to integrate complex systems
• Ability to present/present reports in a clear and coherent manner
• Knowledge of engineering theory and application in automotive structures development
• Well-versed in FMVSS, IIHS, ECE, GB, Euro-Ncap, A-Ncap and other market requirements
