Business Development Specialist
Job description
Primary Responsibilities:
• Carry out market research in order to develop strategies and roadmaps for segments. Develop and maintain good stakeholders’ relationship for the future growth.
• Analyze potential and existing markets to identify business opportunities. Determines project scope and specifications with substantial latitude for action or decision. Recommends changes in service offerings, solution, delivery procedures as appropriate.
• Develops and masters researching techniques to identify prospective customers, test partners and to identify the decision makers in the prospective organizations.
• Develop strategic partnership with test partners, associations, regulators to achieve sustainable business growth.
• Develops market assessments, value added propositions and strategies with business unit leadership, operations, and sales to generate revenue growth and achieve goals.
• Assists industry leadership in the development of global account strategies, goals and plans.
• Focuses on customer satisfaction, account growth and expansion of services provided, and sustaining customer loyalty for a group of new and key customers.
• Provide technical support to sales team in development of compliance solutions based upon customer requirements.
• Develops and coordinates executive presentations and de-briefings.
• Provide support to marketing team, in the area of developing strategies for service promotions. Prepare presentations, proposals on effective development of business opportunities.
• Assist the relevant management in resourcing, budgeting, and problem-solving activities. Develop campaigns and other activities that will help in increasing awareness of UL’s service offering.
• Performs other duties as directed.
• Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Provide assistance to management on potential business needs leads, and follows-up on existing customers, in order to help develop product sales.
• Responds effectively to urgent and sensitive customer issues and focuses on sustaining customer satisfaction and loyalty by maintaining a relationship with the customer.
• Develops and manages relationships with assigned prospects and customers and works with the sales staff to assess account potential.
• Initiates communication with stakeholders to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services. Support commercial team, communicates with clients to provide technical assistance in reference to complex product evaluation and/or inspection and follow-up services. Follows up on contacts from clients. Resolves technical issues and explains UL procedures and requirements.
Job requirements
• University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelors degree) in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related disciplines plus generally five years of relevant experience in handing business development or sales activity.
• Knowledgeable in new product development and portfolio management concepts.
• Demonstrated ability on how to develop a business.
