Accounting Technician

Summary Description

Under the supervision of the Controller, the accounting technician maintains the company's books of account, makes journal entries and reconciles accounts, prepares trial balances and financial statements in order to accurately record the company's financial and business transactions and to ensure the control of these data.

Specific responsibilities (tasks, mandates)

• Enter invoices and account statements.

• Record and control accounts receivable, accounts payable, accounting entries and inventory file.

• Maintain accounts in the accounting software.

• Prepare the various returns (SAR, GST/QST, etc.).

• Perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.

• Prepare adjusting entries in accordance with the accounting presentation standards established by the company.

• Prepares or coordinates the preparation of financial statements, summary statements and other business case and financial management reports.

• Collaborate in the preparation of summary reports such as financial statements, balance sheets, graphs, etc.

• Record year-end entries.

• Diploma of Professional Studies in Accounting.

• 3 years of experience in similar roles.

• Very good general knowledge of accounting software.

• Functional spoken English is an asset.
